NDC National Chairman Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has charged party folks not to hold back their contributions in helping return the largest opposition party back to power.
He said the party once in power, will reward their efforts by running a government on the basis of “no contribution, no chop. James Klutse Avedzi, Ketu North Member of Parliament (MP), has called for unity in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) towards the 2020 elections, by closing their ranks.
He said though victory was beckoning in next year's elections due to the failure of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government, to reduce abject poverty, the NDC would miss victory if it failed to do its homework. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has kicked against any plans by the Electoral Commission (EC) to pilot the implementation of the Representation of People Amendment Act (ROPAA) in the 2020 elections.
The Party believed that if the ROPAA should be implemented, it should be conducted in all the 193 countries recognised by the United Nations, instead of conducting the election in only 64 nations where Ghana had established embassies. Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has tasked constituency executives to focus on strengthening branches of the party as part of efforts to win power in 2020.
Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the party to work hard and win the 2020 elections to honour their fallen former National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.
Eulogizing the former Chairman when he visited his home, he said Dr. Kwabena Adjei has done a lot for the party especially when during his tenure as Chairman he led the party to victory in the 2008 General Elections. The Electoral Commission (EC) has assured it will work assiduously to draft regulations to be eventually passed into a constitutional instrument (CI) by Parliament this year for the smooth implementation of the People’s Amendment Act (ROPAA) 2006, Act 699 ahead of the 2020 general election.
