Source: 3news. com - Former President Jerry John Rawlings has lashed out at the present crop of leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), wondering how he has been made a “scapegoat” for the massive defeat the party suffered in the December 7 elections.  He has, therefore, called for “some careful introspection” in order to get the party he founded back on track before the next general elections.

“I will urge the NDC to stop considering the President for 2020 because he won’t win and can never win an election again. Those campaigning for him to be brought back should stop because if they succeed in getting him lead the NDC in 2020, NDC will lose again and they will be in opposition for a long time,”

“We need to plan around these things. This year we planned to do the releases for the election based on the calendar that was prepared right from the beginning of the year, beginning with capital expenditure like the equipment that we saw..” 

Source: citifmonline. com - Finance Minister Seth Terkper has made some proposals to the incoming Nana Akufo-Addo administration to consider setting up a fund to finance the 2020 general elections ahead of time. According to him, such a move will reduce the financial pressure that government faces in an election year, since election expenditure is financially intensive.

Although the NDC-administration under President John Dramani Mahama performed creditably to deserve another term, the party had accepted the results in good faith and would mobilise its members to re-capture political power in 2020.
