Mr Henry Nana Boakye, the National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said the party will not be complacent but would campaign massively as though it was in opposition.
Mr Samuel Awuku, the National Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has said that election 2020 will be contest of records and ideas devoid of snatching of ballot boxes.
“That is why it is much more important that we let the NDC understand that the era where ballot boxes are snatched is past.” The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Sammy Awuku, has challenged members of the party not to be complacent in the run up to the 2020 elections.
2020 polls: ‘Shine your eyes’ with ‘boot-for-boot’ vigilance at poll centres – Mahama to NDC2/3/2019 “Let all of us go back to our branches because elections are won or lost at the polling stations. If you do not match your opponent boot-for-boot at the polling station level – and this time when I say ‘boot-for-boot’, I mean ‘shine your eye’ – watch every stage of the electoral process and make sure that the figures that are recorded at the polling stations are correct and that is the way we can guarantee a victory in the elections. Let our message be to the Ghanaian people”. Former President John Mahama has urged all members of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to “match” their opponents “boot-for-boot” at the polling stations during the 2020 general elections.
Speaking to party supporters after a 10.6-km Victory Health Walk in Accra on Saturday, 2 March 2019, a week after his election as flag bearer, Mr Mahama said: “After the [presidential] primaries, now the hard work begins”. THE BAD blood between former Ningo-Prampram Constituency Member of Parliament E.T. Mensah and his successor, Sam George, appears far from ending.

Mensah publicly snubbed Sam George when the latter tried to greet him on Saturday, February 23 in the constituency on the sidelines of the voting process in the NDC presidential primary. Good morning Mr. President, so far so good. As social democrats, we have tried to lessen the burden of the marginalized in society through our focus on agriculture, job creation, single spine that seeks to better the lot of workers, and delivery of education and health infrastructure to socially excluded communities.
An official with Nigeria's election commission has ruled out a further delay in presidential and parliamentary elections, saying voting will go ahead on Saturday.
Some foreign observers, including Botswana's ex-President Festus Mogae, have raised doubts about whether the commission would be ready for the poll. |
